Every cloud has a silver lining, and with the promise of brighter days to come, Live Lebanon continues to inject hope where there seems to be none through the dedicated support and generosity of its Goodwill Ambassadors.
In that spirit, a project was launched in November 2015 to ease the suffering of a group of HIV patients who could not afford the cost of the treatment. Unlike many other chronic diseases, HIV patients suffer on both physical and psychological levels due to the social pressure associated with the disease. That is why it was critical for Live Lebanon to intervene, and through the contribution of Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Bouran Hallani, tests and medication was provided for 80 patients per month, in addition to gynaecological check-ups for a group of 30 women infected with HIV.
This initiative was executed through Vivre Positif, a non-profit organization that supports people living with and/or affected by HIV/AIDS in Lebanon. It aims at empowering, supporting and advocating for the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS in Lebanon.
The intervention done by Live Lebanon has enabled Vivre Positif to support a larger number of HIV patients, playing its part in trying to ease their suffering.
“The fact that an initiative such as Live Lebanon ignored all the stereotypes and chose to help our patients really moved us”.
