The water collection reservoir of Bourj El Khokh spring currently provides drinking water to the villages of Qleileh, Marjeyoun, Deir Mimas, Bourj El Moulouk and Kfar Kila. But only one water pump meets the needs of these five villages.
This water pump should be operational 24 hours a day, every day. But because of frequent malfunctions and electricity shortages, it only works for two hours a day. Without any standby emergency pumping system, villages are left without water for weeks because of pending repairs to the pump. This clearly has health and hygiene implications, especially if drinking water has to be obtained elsewhere.
These villages desperately need a second pump, and with your support, this can become a reality. A second pump would ensure a stable supply of water to 4,500 households of the five villages. Overnight, this would improve the standard of living of all the villagers of this beautiful region.
