On January 28, 2018, 330 volunteers from various organizations and companies contributed to making the Zouk beach trash-free. Together with Live Lebanon, they collected 20 tons of waste which were sent to recycling facilities that are part of the Live Love Recycle program.
The effects of pollution on sea life include, but are not limited to: Oil covering the feathers of birds and the gills of fish and general reproductive system failure from exposure to poisonous industrial and agricultural chemicals.
