How it Began
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 1,000 deaths each year result from road accidents in Lebanon. This is partly due to poor road conditions and potholes. Improving roads would reduce car accidents and ultimately save lives.
To fill potholes for smoother and safer roads, Live Lebanon and MTV Lebanon launched Ensa Joura in May 2017.
How it Worked
This project engaged citizens and local organizations in asking them to report potholes they found around Lebanon through the MTV app. Next, velocity road repair machines, developed with eco-friendly state-of-the-art technology, fixed these reported potholes in various areas around Lebanon.
Ensa Joura covered all areas of Lebanon, benefiting locals, residents, and tourists alike driving and walking on the roads of Lebanon.
Ensa Joura won the WARC prize for Middle Eastern and North African advertising strategy in 2016.
